What is contributing all about?
At SPLITREASON.COM it's our goal to create the best products possible for a niche demographic of geeks and gamers through a creative, community-driven process. Since the best ideas aren't always cooked up in a boardroom meeting or over fierce individual design sessions, and rather through random events that occur in our beloved geek/gaming culture on a frequent basis, we've provided a platform for our community to brainstorm, design, and vote on new ideas and artwork that may one day bare the title of "New SPLITREASON.COM product."
We can't be a part of every hilarious event or moment of pure ownage that happens in the world of geekdom, so we rely on you the geek or gamer, pirate or ninja, zombie or robot, to help fuel our creative engine with the geeky goodness required to produce some of the greatest products our industry has ever seen.
If you're a designer, illustrator, graphic artist, or just a nutjob thinker with ideas that rival that of sliced bread, put your pixel pushin' powers to work or strap on that thinking cap and submit your designs or ideas for public scrutiny! We'd love see your designs, or hear about any ideas you might have for new products!

not a designer, no problem, you can still jump in the conversation to let us know what you're thinking!

encourage designers to check out our Idea Whiteboard for inspiration and ideas
that would make excellent SPLITREASON.COM products.
Here's how it works:
Design a t-shirt, hat, hoody, or any other clothing product you feel would be of interest to our customers, and submit it to our website. Images must be in JPEG format (Width: 600 pixels, Height: 434 pixels). If you have any problems submitting your design, email it to us.
STEP 2 Internal ReviewAfter your design has been submitted, it has to make it past the front lines. We have an internal committee that will review your design and approve it to appear on our website. You will receive an email if your design is not approved. Your design may not be approved for the following reasons:
- The design is not quality, lacks a clean presentation, or is simply appalling.
- The design is not thoughtful or clever in anyway, and we don't feel it will be enjoyed by our readers.
- The design is not original artwork, contains images taken from the Internet, or is the Intellectual Property of another organization or artist.
- The design is old news, over-done, or already exists on another website.
If your design is approved, it will appear on our website here. At this point our readers will
rate and review your design, and provide feedback you may want to consider for an update
to your design or future submission. If you agree with our readers comments and criticism,
you may update your design and submit it a second time. Design updates are treated as new
submissions and must also go through the internal review described in STEP 2.
If you make it this far, tell all your friends about your design, and promote it however you
can! Every person that reviews, rates, or comments on your design increases the chances of
your design being chosen!
Our system records the number of votes your design has received, and our staff reviews the front-runners each month to decide if they are worthy of production. If your design has received a large number of votes, and numerous positive comments, it will be selected to become a SPLITREASON.COM product! If we choose your design you will be contacted via email to claim your free t-shirt and $250 contribution payment.
IDEA WHITEBOARD. Brainstorm your ideas!
The Idea Whiteboard is our latest creation, it allows
you to submit ideas for new products, or reply to other ideas and offer your
feedback and suggestions. Since many of our visitors have excellent ideas,
but may not have a strong skill set in design or illustration, this allows us to create a collection of strong
product concepts, which our designers can then use as inspiration
and subject matter for new designs. Your input is appreciated, and rewarded
with SPLITREASON.COM Gold Pieces that can be used towards the purchase of
any product in our online store.
If you have a bunch of wacky ideas bouncing off the walls of your cranium,
you better get them out before your head explodes. You'll thank us
later. You can create new ideas or reply to others on our whiteboard which
can be found here.
We moderate all incoming content, so don't think you can slap a few words
together and call it creative thinking! We only approve ideas that we
believe are relevant, appropriate, and worthy of our reward.

If you design a product that we select, manufacture, and then retail through our online store you'll receive a payment of $250 and a free copy of the t-shirt you designed!
If you are an active contributor of ideas, and help improve the ideas of others with your suggestions and constructive feedback, you will be rewarded in SPLITREASON.COM Gold Pieces, which can then be converted into store credit that may be used to purchase products. Play an active roll, and you could be wearing your idea at no expense! We offer 200gp for a new idea, and 40gp for a response to another persons idea.
Important Questions and Answers
You own the rights to your design until it is selected to be turned into a product. As soon as we select your design, we take ownership of it. Keep this in mind when submitting your artwork. If you are not comfortable giving us the rights to your design, do not upload it to us. If you want us to remove your design for any reason, you can send us an email.
How much money will I make if my design is used?If we choose your design, you will receive a payment of $250 dollars.
How do I get paid?We pay contributors by sending them company checks, or online via PayPal. The choice is yours.
Can I submit my design to other websites?No. As stated above, we take ownership of your design if we select it to become a product. For this reason, we do not allow you to submit your design to other websites. If you no longer want your design posted, and it has not yet been turned into a product, you may contact us to retract your submission.
